Quantum Energy Initiative talk at France Quantum

On June 14th, 2022, at the Eiffel Tower, in an event organized by OVHcloud and Startup Inside, Alexia Auffèves did a presentation describing the shape and form of the Quantum Energy Initiative and its first scientific results. She showcased why it was important to start looking at the power consumption of quantum technologies overall, taking the example of quantum computers. She described the whereabouts of a “quantum energy advantage” with taking the example of superconducting qubits and the ways to obtain it with looking at both the fundamental level (how qubits work) and at the macroscopic level (how qubits are controlled by classical electronics and cooled with cryogeny).

The event also featured several panel discussions on qubit technologies (with Pasqal, Quandela, Alice&Bob, C12 and CEA/CNRS), on telecommunications (with Veriqloud), on enabling technologies (with Air Liquide, Radiall, ATEM, Silent Waves and WeLinQ), and a celebration of Alain Aspect‘s experiment 40st anniversary. About three months before he got the Nobel prize in physics along with John Clauser and Anton Zeilinger.
